WATCHING BABY EINSTEIN VIDEOS, LEARNING ABOUT SHAPES AND COLORS

Please let there be magic in Atlanta this Saturday that sends a certain unnamed team from South Bend, IN back home with a win-loss record of 0-1. Please let that magic come in the form of at least 2 amazing plays from a certain unnamed wide receiver who may or may not share the name of my favorite comic book character. Please let that magic last for an unspecified amount of time, perhaps a dozen or so games.
We may not have Touchdown Jesus, but I like the little baby Christmas Jesus more anyway. Cause we from the s'th.

BEST. PURCHASE. EVER

You know how sometimes you pre-order something and then totally forget about it? And then you're about to take a shower cause you're running late to pick up your friend from LAX and the Postman rings once (just once, I promise) and gives you a mysterious box and you realize THAT'S where all your money went when it was bill-paying time a few months ago? Yeah - best/worst/best feeling ever, right? I love it/hate it/love it when it happens.
I flipped when I first saw this hoodie - it meets all of my clothes-buying-rules:
1) Neon colors.2) Reversible (right, like that'll ever be necessary).3) Hooded sweatshirt to wear in LA in the summer.4) With the SARS mask, it resembles an old Halloween costume of mine (I was Mortal Kombat's Reptile one year).

That's the best picture I could get - I was about to have a heat stroke wearing the damn thing so long.
From here.
(Buster, sorry, I'm leaving for the airport right NOW. You just sent me a text saying you're on the way to baggage claim.)

DAVID RYAN HARRIS AT TEMPLE BAR

August 5, 2006Temple BarSanta Monica, CA

It's Saturday Night Live...with muuuuusical guest David Ryan Harris...
I was reminded tonight of how wonderful it is to see a show at Temple Bar. Great crowd, a "supergood" (per our Japanese friends) vibe, and tremendous inter-set music (I'll never get tired of P.Y.T.). Oh yeah, and it's about a mile from the beach. AND, tonight, everyone I've ever met was there - it was like being in the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese's (I loved it when it was Showbiz), but instead of dirty plastic balls, I was smothered all around by friends and faces of joy. I hope heaven's something like that.
David had Blair Sinta and Sean Hurley (I'm hoping that's right, I combined phonetics with the power of an internet search engine) backing him, and the three dudes went off. All I Need had a segue into Al I Green. The crowd did their thing in Can We Get Down and Good Thing in a major way. Then, this guy named "JJ Johnson" or something jumped behind the drums for Hold My Fire. It was the most, like, ridiculous thing ever. I thought the place was going to explode. Yesterday Shutting Down continues to be a crowd favorite. I love how David gets everyone in to a nice little groove with the first part of the show then kills you with the rock and the guitar in those last two. He left everyone with For You.
It felt like the whole touring crew was in the house/in the temple/in the bar/in da club - I think y'all are gonna be in for a treat this summer. A tasty, savory, refreshing treat. I'mna try to go spy on rehearsals in the next few days and report back to you. Bwahahaha, "back to you".
Shoutout to El Cholo for having more patience than an emergency room and better Tacos Al Carbon than The Fifth Element.

BONE THUGS-N-HARMONY FANS ARE EVERYWHERE TODAY

It seems "1st of Tha Month" had a much farther-reaching influence than I thought - check out all the people looking to cash their checks and come on:

This pic is my third attempt to "beat the crowd by going to a different, more obscure bank." Lines 60-80 people deep everywhere. Back when I first listened to BTNH (on a 7th grade Model UN trip to Statesboro, GA, just like everyone else), I really had no idea what they were talking about. Today, ladies and gentlemen, a boy became a man. And that man sings what are surely the wrong words to "Tha Crossroads" while he waits 45 minutes to make a deposit into his checking account.
But: Maddux and his Circle Change wearing Dodger Blue? Yessir!
