Pandora

I love Pandora for many reasons, but I just discovered another. Whatever the compression algorithm they use, it completely distorts the overall mix of the song. Bass disappears, treble thins and certain midrange frequencies come to life, completely separated from the rest of the tune. Not the way you want to first hear a song, but for tried and tested oldies like Prince and Michael Jackson, it's an amazing way to listen to songs you thought you knew. I just heard "Wanna Be Startin' Something" and picked out a wild staccato guitar line I've never heard before. Give it a try with headphones.
