Beacon Theatre, New York, NY

It’s been a long night in New York City…

I’m not sure what I can tell you about the set that you didn’t see from the comfort of your own home. Hopefully it was the first live show many of you enjoyed in your underwear (bonus points to those who are well versed in the art of pantsless concerts). As you witnessed, it was a killer show…the new stuff feels so good. John changed guitars for an extended outro in Waiting on The World To Change (the Steve Jordan drum solo beforehand will absolutely make you smile) and Charlie Wilson was ridiculous on the keys. There was an energy on stage and in the room. A very special night.

Speaking of special -

True story (my luck with cabs is becoming a theme): after I was done at the venue, I hailed a cab. I was carrying some gear and needed the trunk opened. The driver got out WITH HIS PANTS DOWN to manually unlock and open the trunk. I kid you not – belt undone, zipper down, not a clasped button in sight. I pretended that I forgot something and ran back inside the theatre. What does that mean? I don’t know what’s worse – the fact that that’s how the guy rolls or the fact that he didn’t bother straightening up before getting out of the cab on Broadway. Can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow night.

Sorry – not to distract from the great night – some photos (including one from the unique perspective of The Chad):
